Turkey Trots & Other November Races

LRC Racing once again partook in the annual tradition of the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, with some of the best performances the team has ever had on Turkey Day.  But first, LRC had ten runners take off to Urbandale, IA for the annual Living History Farms Road-O-Cross race.  This year on 11/17/18, the men’s team of Nolan Zimmer (4th OA, 2nd AG), Andrew Jacob (8th OA, 3rd AG), John Cleary (9th OA, 6th AG) and Kyle Clouston took runner-up in the team competition to Collegeville TC.  Stacy Shaw (1st masters & grandmasters) also ran, although the women’s team did not materialize due to conflicts/injury.  On the masters side, Ryan Regnier (4th Masters, 3rd AG), Darin Schlake (5th AG), Brett Daugherty (1st AG), Craig Christians (2nd AG) and Kevin Burke (2nd AG) finished as the third masters team.

Then at the Turkey Trots, Cole Marolf (15:42.2) took the title in Lincoln, and also cemented himself as 8th on the team’s Top 10 Charts.  Matt Cornell (4th OA, 17:07.3) made his debut, while Sarah Fowler continued a strong fall season by running a new team record of 17:43.9 as she finished 2nd overall.  Ryan Salem also made a return to racing (1st Masters, 17:52.2) as he now stands #10 on the team’s masters Top 10 Charts.  Shannon Suing had a strong performance (1st Masters, 19:34.7) as she is now third on the masters Top 10 Charts. Finally, Kerry McDermott made a return from the east coast to run 22:03.4, which was good enough for first in his age group.

Meanwhile in Fremont, Nick Webber (26:31) and Andrew Jacob (26:37) took the top two spots with Nick barely snagging the tenth spot on the team’s Top 10 Charts. Many other ran in Turkey Trots, however, results were not readily available.

Next up for the team will be the Lincoln Track Club’s Holiday Run, followed by USATF Club XC Championships in Spokane, WA the second weekend in December.
