Grandma’s and Cornfield 10k

Saturday, June 16th was highlighted by two major events where LRC Racing made their presence known once again.

Six team members travelled to Duluth, MN for the 42nd Grandma’s Marathon and Gary Bjorklund Half-Marathon.  On the course reporting had the weather be about as perfect as it can be this time of year with overcast skies and temps in the low 50s.  The predicted wash out never appeared during the morning and racers took advantage of the slight rolling hills and panoramic views of Lake Superior.

A few teammates made a shorter drive up to Papillion for the 3rd local event of the Pink Gorilla Race Series, the Cornfield Cornfield 10k.  Starting and finishing in Werner Park (home of the Kansas City Royals’ triple A team the Stormchasers), racers were met with some of the hottest race temps of the year.  As always the crew raced as well as the conditions allowed and represented well in a tour of the southwest part of the Omaha Metro Area
