Logan Watley had planned on running the NYC Marathon on November 4th, but the race was cancelled on the 2nd.  Watley then decided to make the drive to Springfield Mo. to compete in the 2012 Bass Pro Springfield Marathon. Watley looked good through the first half of the race, but at mile 13 he started to notice some pain in his calf. “I tweaked my calf in the last couple miles of the Des Moines Half Marathon, and I guess it just hadn’t healed up enough since then,”said Watley,” It’s disappointing to put in several months of training and to have to drop out, but sometimes in running you have to roll with the punches.” Watley pushed through the pain for the next 9 miles, but was forced to drop out at mile 22.

On Saturday November 17th, LRC’s 2012 racing season will come to an end when Brian WandizlakBen CohoonAndrew JacobFrankie Petersen, andAdeline Hohman will travel to Urbandale, Iowa to compete in the Living History Farms Off-Road Race. These athletes will also be competing in the team portion of the race in the Coed division.
