Weekend Update

LRC Racing had a VERY successful weekend, which resulted in quite a bit of movement in the team’s top 10 charts.  The weekend started off on Saturday, October 19th with the Kansas City Half/Full Marathon.  Ryan Regnier and Hayley Sutter represented LRC well on the chilly Saturday morning.  Ryan was the 11th male to finish the race (4th in his age group) as he paced himself to a 2:44:13 marathon, which moved him up one spot on the Top 10 charts from fifth to fourth.  In addition, Hayley Sutter won the women’s half marathon race in a PR and new LRC team record of 1:20:34.

Then, on the morning of Sunday, October 20th, four men and three women represented at the Des Moines Half/Full marathon.  Logan Watley was the first LRC finisher in a time of 1:13:53, which moved him from 7th on the Top 10 charts into a tie for 6th place (8th overall, 3rd in age group).  Andrew Jacob was not far behind in a time of 1:13:58 (9th, 4th).  In addition, Dan Haden ran his first half marathon in a time of 1:16:34, placing him 10th on the Top 10 charts (18th, 5th).  Derek Sekora also made his long awaited return from injury by finishing in a time of 1:20:48 (35th, 11th).  Krysta George also represented LRC in the women’s half by running 1:29:49, which was 9th in her age group.

In the full marathon, Amber Sargent smashed her previous personal best by running 2:56:51, which was good enough for 6th overall in the women’s race and first in her division.  Nora Youngs also debuted at the marathon distance by running a time of 3:06:56 (9th overall, 4th in age group).  These times were good for the 3rd and 4th spots on the LRC charts.

Finally, on Sunday afternoon at the Governor’s Cup in Lincoln, NE, Eric Noel led the way in the 15k by running 50:15, which broke the previous team record held by Neil Wolford by almost 1:40.  Neil Wolford and Chad Sellers also represented LRC by finishing in 6th (55:43) and 7th (56:01), respectively.  Austin McKillip averaged 6:25’s, finishing in 59:40 (2nd in age group).  Chad and Austin’s times were good enough for the 4th and 7th top times at that distance.

In the 5k, Tom Woods won the entire race in a time of 16:26 (10th in all-time charts), while Craig Christians ran his debut LRC race in a time of 17:49 (5th overall).  Addie Hohman also won the women’s 5k race.

Congratulations to all our active LRC runners!
