Weekend Racing

Between Ames, IA and Lincoln, NE, LRC Racing had a busy weekend in the racing results.  On Saturday night, a small contingent of runners travelled to Ames, IA to compete in the annual Midnight Madness 10k run.  Led by Johnny Rutford (10th OA, 33:01), the team comprised of Cole Marolf (20th, 36:25) and Zach Brown (22nd, 36:38) placed as the runner-up in the team competition.  Full results can be found here.

Then, on the following Sunday morning in Lincoln, NE, the bulk of LRC runners took to the streets (and sidewalks) or downtown Lincoln to run the Lincoln Mile.  While Amy McCracken was the sole female participant for LRC in a time of 5:51.26 (3rd OA and 1st Masters by a mere .23 seconds), Andrew Jacob led the men with a 5th overall finish in 4:43.35.  Brian Wandzilak (1st AG, 4:53.69), Ryan Dostal (2nd AG, 4:55.76), Austin McKillip (2nd AG, 5:07.43) and Derek Sekora (3rd AG, 5:10.73) also placed high for the open men.  In the master’s race, Ryan Regnier (1st AG, 5:00.54) was just half a second of the team’s 40+ record.  Charles Smith (2nd AG, 5:09.71), Craig Christians (1st AG, 5:20.4), Darin Schlake (1st AG, 5:24.57), Jeff Hansen (1st AG, 5:26.73) and Brett Daugherty (2nd AG, 5:34.96) also all represented the masters team.
