Thunder Run and a downhill mile

Here is a quick update on racing the past two weekends (the Thunder Run recap was all typed up before technology decided to delete everything upon an attempt to post).  Trevor Vidlak ran extremely well, outpacing the pack on his way to the overall victory in a time of 15:27. Trevor’s time places him in a tie with Neil Wolford for the team record at that distance from two years prior.  Also placing in the Top 10 for LRC Racing was Cole Marolf (3rd, 15:57), Johnny Rutford (4th, 15:58), Logan Watley (6th, 16:23), Andrew Jacob (16:25) and Ivan Ivanov (9th, 16:36).  Brian Wandzilak (1st AG, 17:06) and Jacob Kaemmer (2nd AG, 17:27) also ran for the LRC men. Cole’ stime also places him 8th overall on the Top 10 Charts.

For the masters men, Ivan led the way as the 2nd overall masters male, while Chuck Smith (1st AG, 17:22), Jason Schmaderer (2nd AG, 18:19), Brian Kelley (1st AG, 18:25), Darin Schlake (1st AG, 18:26) and Brett Daugherty (1st AG, 18:43) all competed in the 5k race as well.  Chuck, Jason and Brett now find themselves at the 3rd, 7th and 8th spots, respectively, in the masters Top 10 Charts.

In the women’s race, Hayley Sutter set a blistering pace, bettering the team record she set earlier this year by over 20 seconds as she ran 17:45. Michelle Paxton finished as the second overall female in a time of 18:53.  Michelle’s time also places her 4th on the all-time charts.

Then this past weekend, Trevor Vidlak continue his hot streak as he placed second at the Arrows to Aerospace Downhill Mile in a time of 4:15.3.  Andrew Jacob (4th, 4:29.5), Derek Sekora (8th, 4:37.8) and Austin McKillip (10th, 4:43.9) also ran for the LRC men, while Tom Woods (9th, 4:41.2), Jason Schmaderer (13th, 4:47.3), Charles Smith (14th, 4:49.7), Darin Schalke (21st, 5:05) and Brian Kelley (23rd, 5:07.1) represented LRC in the 40+ age groups.  All across the board, LRC runners set numerous age group records for the race.
