Lincoln Running Co. Racing showed very well across the Midwest this past weekend at both the State Farm Run and Chicago Shamrock Shuffle. On Saturday, March 28th in Lincoln at State Farm, LRC Racing took two wins in both the men’s and women’s 5k and numerous top 10 and age group awards in the 10 mile race.  Despite cold and windy conditions, Logan Watley broke the tape in 16:22 with teammate Cole Marolf (16:30) not far behind in second.  In the women’s race, Erica Doering ran the third fastest 5k in team history (18:38), breaking the tape 14 seconds before Team Nebraska’s Breelan Kear.

In the 10 mile race (behind two Team Nebraska runners), LRC Racing placed well, finishing 3rd through 6th and 9th.  Chad Sellers led the way in 55:06 with Andrew Jacob running close behind for a majority of the race (55:18).  Next across the line for LRC was Ryan Regnier (56:06) and Jacob Kaemmer (57:31), with a healthy Derek Sekora rounding out the top finishers in 59:13. Chad, Andrew, Ryan and Jacob all put their names on the LRC performance charts, 5-7 and 10, respectively.  Other runners to represent and compete well in age divisions were Tim Larsen (1:00:39), Tom Woods (1:00:54), Austin McKillip (1:00:57), Jeff Hansen (1:03:08), Jason Zakaras (1:03:29), Jason Schmaderer (1:03:46), Darin Schlake (1:05:38), Kerry McDermott (1:11:38) and Brian Kelley (1:17:57).  The lone representation for the LRC women was Ann Bauermeister who won her age group in a time of 1:12:34.

Meanwhile, on Sunday morning in Chicago, weather conditions were much worse for the LRC contingent with a windchill of 24 degrees and winds of 22mph.  Even so, they represented the team and our state well as the women finished 9th out of 20 teams and the men finished 16th out of 30 teams.  Both teams had the first individual finishers and were the first team from Nebraska.  On the men’s side, Neil Wolford crossed the finish line first for the LRC team in a time of 25:41 followed by a solid pack of Ivan Ivanov (26:04), Tom Nichols (26:07), Michael Rathje (26:07) and Ryan Dostal (26:20).  Their 1-4 scoring split (0:26) was second among all teams in the field!  In addition, Ivan won his age group division in the race!

On the women’s side, Bridget Easley continued to run well, finishing in a time of 29:23.  Michelle Paxton was right there too as she finished in 29:26. Hayley Sutter (30:10) and Frankie Petersen (31:06) rounded out the inaugural women’s team at the Chicago Shamrock Shuffle. Their 1-3 scoring split (0:47) was also very tight, putting them in position for their top 10 finish.
