Racing Update
On April 1st, Ryan Regnier took part in the 18th Annual Brew to Brew Relay Race. Regnier took part in the Men’s solo 44.3-mile race, where he took 1st place out of 100 runners with a time of 5:37:18.
On Saturday, April 14th, Lincoln Running Company Racing was represented in the 4th Annual Eagle Fun Run in Eagle, Neb. by Ben Cohoon. Cohoon ran a 37:15 on his way to a 2nd place finish in the race.
This year LRC Racing had 3 members of its team compete in the 116th running of the Boston Marathon. At the race’s beginning, the temperatures were already at a warm 80 degrees and it only got hotter from there. Drew Pope led the way by running a 3:11:07 on a day when thousands of runners dropped out. Logan Watley was the other LRC Racing member to finish the race with a time of 4:05:51. Mike Herz also competed, but he was forced to drop out at the halfway point due to the extreme temperatures.
This past weekend the LRC Racing team took part in the final Lincoln Track Club road race before the Lincoln Marathon. The Norvartis run was an outstanding showing for the LRC Racing Team as team members took the top 5 places in the men’s 10k race, and the top 2 spots in the women’s 10k race. The men were led by LRC veteran Eric Noel and the newest member of the LRC Racing team, Tom Nichols. Noel finished in 1st place with a time of 33:32 and Nichols finished 2nd in 33:34. Noel and Nichols are both planning on running in the 2012 Lincoln Marathon, and are expected to be towards the front of the May 6th race. In 3rd place for the men was Neil Wolford followed by Ryan Regnier and Ryan Osberg with times of 34:11, 34:53 and 35:06, respectively. The women were led by Nora Youngs and Amber Brandenburger. Youngs won the race with a time of 40:02 and Brandenburger placed 2ndwhile running a 40:20.
The next race on the horizon for many of the LRC Team Members is the 2012 Lincoln National Guard Marathon on Sunday May 6th. Competing in the full marathon will be Eric Noel, Tom Nichols and Ryan Regnier. Noel finished 3rd in last years Lincoln Marathon while competing for LRC Racing, and Nichols was 4th. Competing in the half marathon will be Amber Brandenburger, Ben Cohoon, Quinn Lewandowski, Austin McKillip, Ryan Osberg, Drew Pope, Brittany Singleton, Neil Wolford and Nora Youngs. Wolford was the male top finisher for LRC Racing in the half marathon last year finishing in 10th place with a time of 1:12:47. Brandenburger was the top female finisher for LRC Racing in the half marathon with a time 1:26:00 and coming in as the 6th female finisher overall in the race.
