Noel and Petersen Shine at Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon

Over 7,600 people gathered in Minneapolis, Min. for the 2012 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. LRC Racing contributed four athletes to the 7,600 and came away with an impressive showing. Eric Noel led the way for LRC Racing athletes, running a personal best and LRC Racing record 2:29:31. Noel’s time placed him 29th overall. Noel’s previous PR was 2:32:21, which he ran at the 2011 Lincoln Marathon. He was followed by Mike Herz who also ran a new personal best 2:46:24. Herz cracked the top 100 with his time and improved his personal best by over 10 minutes. 

In her marathon debut, Frankie Petersen ran an LRC Racing record 3:00:52, which made her the 31st female to cross the finish line. Petersen came through the first half of her marathon in 1:28:25, just over 2 minutes slower than her previous personal best in the half-marathon distance. Tom Nichols also made the trip to Minneapolis, but was forced to drop out at mile 21 with a hip injury. A little over 400 miles away in Chicago, Ill., LRC Racing sent Amber Brandenburger and Adeline Hohman to compete in the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. In her debut at the marathon distance, Amber came away with a time of 3:33:53. Amber had a consistent pace through most of the race, averaging 8:12 per mile for 25 miles, and was carried through the last mile of the course with a 7:20. Hohman also competed and ran a 4:20:31. She is currently looking forward to the Governor’s Cup where she is planning on competing in the 5k.  For complete results Click Here

Next on the schedule for LRC Racing is the Market-to-Market Relay on Saturday October 13th. For the first time, LRC Racing will be entering a team in the event. Neil WolfordMike RathjeCole MarolfLogan Watley, and Quinn Lewandowski will comprise the LRC Racing team. Ryan RegnierAustin McKillip, and Adeline Hohman will also be competing in the race on other teams. For the first year in the history of the race, the Market 2 Market will also be having a solo 50k race in addition to the relay. LRC’s own Brian Wandzilak will take part in the 50k race. Wandzilak currently has a personal best in the marathon of 2:43:37.
