17 men and women from the Nebraska Association of USATF took part in the state’s 2015 cross country championship on the morning of November 14th at Pioneers Park in Lincoln, NE (yet somehow, Kevin and Pierce managed to find a second row spot).  There was representation from three clubs, and although LRC Racing came away with the individual racing titles in the men’s open, men’s masters and women’s open, Team Nebraska came away with the team title (30-25).

Cole Marolf (LRC) led the way as he finished the 5k course in a time of 16:28.2, while John Gunderson (4th, 16:54.8), Ryan Regnier (6th, 17:46.2), Andrew Jacob (9th, 18:06.2) and Ryan Salem (18:22.2) rounded out the scorers for LRC Racing. In running his time, Salem also won the state masters title for 2015.

Following Salem, Brian Kelley (3rd Masters, 18:54.5), Jason Schmaderer (4th Masters, 18:55.8) and Kevin Burke (5th Masters 20:41.0) rounded out the masters group competing at the championship.

On the women’s side, both Katie Nelson (1st, 20:04.1) and Becca Bevans (2nd, 20:21.8) represented the association in their first inaugural race for LRC.

Next up for LRC Racing will be Living History Farms as a small group of individuals take part in their annual tradition of running the 7-ish mile race.
