Memorial Day Weekend

LRC Racing was active over the long, three-day weekend.  On Saturday, May 24th, Ryan Dostal and Ryan Regnier represented the team in north central Nebraska at Atkinson Festival of Races Half Marathon.  Ryan Dostal continued a strong spring by placing 4th overall (1:13:22). His time places him 6th on the all-time charts.  Ryan Regnier also ran strong, only three weeks after the Lincoln Marathon, finishing 6th overall (1:16:29).  Only a handful of USATF members competed in the race, consisting solely of LRC and Team Nebraska.  Full results can be found here.

Then on Memorial Day, the blue and yellow could be seen at the Boystown 5 mile run.  At the last minute, Logan Watley and Jason Zakaras opted out of the morning’s race at the risk of sacrificing other summer races.  Craig Christians led the way for the team despite a race outside his preference, finishing in 30:55 (15th overall, 1st age group).  Maureen Larsen was the other LRC competitor as she continues her return to racing after some spring down time.  Maureen ran the course in 32:54, finishing 29th overall, 3rd female and 1st in her age group.  The day belonged to Millard West’s Seth Hirsch, however, who after running a 9:22 two mile and 4:32 mile at the Nebraska State Track & Field Meet on Friday/Saturday, returned to Boystown to win the entire race in a time of 25:33.  Results for the 5 mile run can be found here.

LRC Racing will be lying fairly low this coming weekend in preparation for a strong combination of races in two weeks (June 7th), highlighted by the Lincoln Track Club’s Havelock Run.  It’s not too late to sign up!
