Market to Market Relay
This past Saturday was a big day for LRC Racing. Other than the stronger than anticipated headwind from Omaha to Lincoln, the weather conditions were very suitable for fast times. After an incredibly close finish in 2012, the team again entered a men’s team in the open division. LRC Racing finished the face in 7:03:53.77, only 45 seconds ahead of second place Team Nebraska. Both teams crushed the previous course record of 5:34/mile pace by averaging 5:23’s throughout the day. The lead for either team was no larger than 1:45 for LRC Racing and 1:00 for Team Nebraska. Also, congratulations to LRC members Brian Wandzilak and Maria Longenecker who raced the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 13th.
The next race for many will either be the Des Moines Half/Full marathon or the Governor’s Cup 5k/15k. Both events take place on Sunday, October 20th. Entry for the Governor’s Cup can be done through this Thursday (October 17th) and race details can be found
