New member Trevor Vidlak led the way in his inaugural race for the team by winning the entire race with a new team record of 4:24.97. Trevor’s time broke Logan Watley’s old team record by just under nine seconds. Logan Watley was the next LRC member to cross the line in 4:36.20, which placed him 8th in a large field of 30 elite runners. Ryan Dostal ran strong, propelling himself to the 6th fastest time in team history by running 4:40:43. Andrew Jacob (4:51.00), Derek Sekora (4:54.56) and Dan Haden (5:09.43) also competed for the team in the elite heat, with Derek’s time improving his grasp as the 10th fastest miler in LRC history.
Outside the elite heat, LRC Racing ran well in their respective age groups as well. Austin McKillip (4:59.01), Ryan Salem (5:00.38) and Ryan Regnier (5:01.25) placed 2-4 in the 35-39 age group, Darin Schlake (5:20.95) placed 2nd in the 40-44 race, and Brian Kelley (5:13.30) continues with strong performances by winning his age group by 18 seconds. Brian and Darin’s respective times are the 2nd and 3rd times on the top 10 charts.
On the women’s side, Hayley Sutter was the first LRC Racing woman to cross the line as she finished 3rd overall with a newly established team record of 5:28.54. Her time bested previous record holder Frankie Petersen by less than 1/10th of a second. Frankie also ran well placing fourth in a time of 5:37.87. In the 40-44 age group for women, Maureen Larsen won the heat, while also setting a new master’s record, in a time of 5:41.04.
