The 2013 Lincoln Mile was held on Sunday, July 7th, and also served as the 2013 Nebraska Assoc. of USATF Mile Championships.  LRC Racing represented well with Frankie Petersen (5:28.59) and Erica Hamik (5:36.86), placing third and fourth, respectively, in the overall race.  In addition, Frankie and Erica were the first two female USATF members to finish, whereas Maureen Larsen (5:43.08) was the first master’s woman, and USATF master’s woman to finish.

The men were out in numbers Sunday morning as Neil Wolford (4:33.54), Andrew Jacob (4:33.64), Eric Noel (4:34.50) and Logan Watley (4:34.76) finished 4th-7th, respectively.  Other LRC men competing in the “elite field” included Jason Zakaras (9th, 4:42.04) and Brian Wandzilak (13th, 4:49.27).  Neil and Andrew were also the first two male USATF members to finish, wheras Steve Cross (5:21.97) and Hollis Anderson (7:51.28) were the first to USATF master’s men to finish.

Other LRC finishers included Amber Sargent and Addie Hohman, who placed first and second in their age group.  This race served as Amber’s inaugural LRC race.  Other men who competed in age-group races include Dan Haden (2nd in age group), Derek Sekora (1st in age group) and Austin McKillip (1st in age group).

Nine Top-10 Performances were set this morning, with Frankie Petersen setting a new team record in the women’s mile by nearly five seconds.  This new record represents Frankie’s fourth LRC record.
