Grandma’s in Duluth

Picture

LRC Racing made the drive to Duluth and represented well in this morning’s race.  Michael Rathje (1:09:26) and Ryan Dostal (1:10:05) led the way for the team as Michael improved his 4th place hold on the Top 10 spot by seven seconds and Ryan catapulted himself to 6th on the list.  Their times were good for 48th and 52nd overall.

Austin McKillip also ran the full marathon, finishing in 3:00:27. LRC Alum, Ben Cohoon, also finished the race in 2:58:10.

Charles Smith ran the 5k in Duluth on Friday night, finishing in 17:26 and placing himself 3rd on the Master’s Top 10 charts.

Finally, we want to give special recognition to former UNK Loper and Nebraska native, Tanner Fruit, who finished 11th overall in the half marathon, running a 1:05:01 gun time.  The Olympic Marathon qualifier is 1:05:00 and must be gun time, HOWEVER, special consideration will be given to chip time if the gun time is extremely close to the qualifying standards. Tanner’s chip time would have been 1:05:00.  Here’s to hoping USA Track and Field will let Tanner in!
