Empyrean Trail Race

The LRC-Racing calendar kicked off with a great start this year in Ashland, NE.
An unofficial opening for the team in recent years has been the Empyrean Trail Run at Camp Carol Joy Holling. With the incentive of a half keg or growler of Empyrean beer the competition can be fierce. But it is a trail race so times and splits and taking yourself too seriously are out the window.

In a race co-founded by our own Ivan Marsh (the 5k and new 10k course designed and marked by him as well) about 7 years ago. With course conditions ranging from knee deep snow to greasy mud to beautiful footing and conditions you never quite know what you are going to get. But those same conditions serve as a great rust buster from the winter miles. You can get a hard effort in and have no worries after you down the two pints and BBQ sandwich that come with the entry fee. Results:
Mary Hillis, 1st OA 10k
Ivan Marsh, 2nd OA 10k
Brian Wandzilak, 3rd OA 10k
Brian Kelley, 6th OA 10k
