Better late than never, but last weekend, Michael Rathje and Chuck Smith represented LRC Racing in Des Moines. Rathje placed 5th overall in a time of 1:10:56, while Chuck ran 1:20:27 for 18th overall and 2nd in the master’s age group.

That same day, Brian Kelley, Maureen Larsen and Ann Bauermeister all ran the Cross Country Classic in Ashland, NE, and both Brian and Maureen won the master’s division!  Brian ran 28:52, placing 4th overall (and third male), while Maureen ran 31:55, placing 6th overall (and first female).  Ann ran 37:04 as the 7th female overall (and the second master’s female).  Congrats everyone on racing!

Next up will be the Good Life Halfsy taking place on November 1st in Lincoln.  LRC will have multiple teams fielded across the divisions.

Finally, LRC Racing is excited to announce a new fundraising program in order to purchase a race wheelchair that can be used in local, area races.  The idea should allow disabled or elderly persons unable to complete a race’s given distance, to enjoy in the race experience that we all know and love.  The total cost of the race chair is approximately $3,000, and the goal is to have the funds raised before March 15th.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please send send a check made out to “LRC Racing” to 1213 Q St, Lincoln, NE 68508 (with “racechair” in the memo) or just drop it off at the Lincoln Running Company store.

Additional details will be posted as updates become available.
