The past two weeks have been busy ones for the Lincoln Running Company Racing team. On Saturday, October 1st, LRC Racing had 8 members compete in the Market to Market Relay. Austin McKillip, Ryan Regnier and Derek Sekora ran for the Lincoln Running Company/Pepsi team. While averaging 6:12 per mile over the 79 mile course, their team won the 6-person division and came in as the 2nd fastest team overall. Meanwhile, Amber Brandenburger, Quinn Lewandowski and Neil Wolford competed on the Nebraska Wesleyan Alumni Team. Their team won the academic division while averaging 6:46 per mile and placed 10th overall. Other runners who competed from the LRC Racing team include Ryan Osberg and Adeline Hohman.
On Sunday, October 9th, LRC Racing contributed three runners of the 45,000 to compete in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Logan Watley led the way by running a personal best of 2:50:59 and placing 365th overall. Eric Noel went into the race planning to drop out at the halfway point and ended up helping pace Mike Herz to a personal best by almost 7 minutes with a time of 2:57:12. Herz placed 555th overall. Watley and Herz were the second and third runners respectively from the state of Nebraska and were also the top two finishers from Lincoln.
This Sunday, October 16th, LRC Racing will have several members competing in the Art F/X Governors Cup in both the 5k and 15k. The race will take place near the Governor’s mansion (14th and “H”) beginning at 3:00pm. This race will be the debut race for former Lincoln Northeast and Concordia University runner Brittany Singleton. Singleton has personal bests of 2:22 in the 800, 5:22 in the mile, and 19:06 in the 5k.
