California International Marathon (CIM)
The California International Marathon (CIM) was EXTREMELY successful for LRC Racing. The race took place on Sunday, December 8, 2013, on what is typically known to be a fast marathon course, and members representing LRC Racing included Eric Noel, Neil Wolford, Tom Nichols and Krysta George. Although Neil Wolford was debuting at the marathon distance, the day belonged to Eric Noel. Eric cut nearly five minutes off his previous best and LRC Racing team record by running a time of 2:24:49. His time placed him 19th overall and 14th in his age group. Eric’s time was most likely the fastest time by a Nebraskan (not including Nebraska Wesleyan Alum Mike Morgan who currently lives and works and runs in Michigan) since the 2008 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon where former Team Nebraska member (and Nebraska Wesleyan Alum) Levi Ashley ran 2:22:51.
Neil Wolford had a solid debut in his marathon by running 2:38:43, which was good enough 66th overall and 29th in his age group. Wolford’s time also places him third on the all-time charts behind Eric Noel and Tom Nichols (2012 Lincoln Marathon). Tom Nichols also completed the 26.2 mile race in under 3:00 (2:59:28). On the women’s side, Krysta George had a solid marathon debut as well as she finished as the 64th female and 23rd in her age group with a time of 3:03:47. Her time also places here fifth on the LRC Racing all-time charts.
LRC Racing Alum Mike Herz was slated to run the race as well.
Overall, a VERY positive day for LRC Racing and its runners!
