Busting Rust

For it being only the first weekend of February, LRC Racing was quite active on the racing scene this past weekend.  At the NWU Invite, Katie Nelson placed 2nd by running 10:32.21 in the 3k, while Johnny Rutford (8:48.68) and Ryan Dostal (8:59.59) led with a 1-2 punch in the men’s 3k.  Zac Brown also ran the 3k race, finishing in a time of 9:56.20.  Johnny’s time is also a new team record for that track distance.

While that contingent raced indoors, LRC had several representing in the opposite direction at the Empyrean Trail 5k Run.  Neil Wolford (19:44) and Ivan Marsh (20:08) went 1-2, while Jason Schmaderer (5th, 21:33), Brian Kelley (9th, 24:18) rounded out the top 10.  Ann Bauermeister (7th, 29:43) ran for the women’s team.

Finally, Chuck Smith (30:18) and Craig Christians (30:37) represented LRC up in Omaha at the Chiller Challenge 8k.

Congratulations to everyone who raced this weekend!
