Buffalo Run

We realize that we’ve missed updates on the past few races (Columbus DTRA, Thunder Run, Arrows to Aerospace, etc.), but we are getting back on track with the 2014 Buffalo Run.  With near perfect weather, LRC continued the tradition of having the best representation of any team.

The women’s race had to be one of the closest races ever to be held at the event. Hayley Sutter (30:28) took first place, with Team Nebraska’s Shannon Suing (30:29) in second. Hayley’s teammate, Frankie Petersen finished third (30:33), while Team Nebraska’s Bridget Easley finished just behind in fourth (30:41). Maureen Larsen finished as the first female master’s and fifth overall as she ran a time of 32:26.  Ann Bauermeister also competed for LRC as she ran a time of 36:26. Hayley’s time is a new team record, breaking Frankie Petersen’s old team record by 0:22 seconds.

In the men’s race, LRC took seven of the top ten spots.  Cole Marolf led the way in 26:18 (2nd), Andrew Jacob finished in 26:29 (4th) and Neil Wolford crossed the line at 26:39 (5th).  Places 6, 7, 9 and 10 were taken by Jason Zakaras (26:59), Ivan Ivanov (27:00), Jacob Kaemmer (27:16) and Ryan Regnier (27:21).  Brian Wandzilak (28:03), Derek Sekora (28:47), Brian Kelley (29:46), Jason Schmaderer (30:02), Craig Christians (30:09) and Darin Schlake (30:18) also all competed for LRC.  60% of the team’s top 10 charts were rewritten as Cole (3rd), Andrew (4th), Neil (6th), Ivan (8th), Jacob (9th) and Ryan (10th) all improved upon the team’s all-time charts.  Every single one of the LRC Masters runners ran a Top 10 master’s time.

In Sioux Falls, SD, Logan Watley ran the half marathon race, finishing 15th place in a time of 1:16:26.  Chad Sellers also competed in the Twin Rivers YMCA Freedom Run, finishing 4th in a time of 1:14:40.

In the upcoming weeks look for LRC to compete in college alumni races, Omaha
