Bryan Health Capital City Classic

The re-branded Capital City Classic sponsored by Bryan Health could not have gone better for LRC Racing! A 5k and 15k race took place on Sunday, October 23rd, and the team represented well. In the 15k, Trevor Vidlak took the overall title with a time of 52:12, while Ryan Regnier (3rd OA, 1st Masters, 52:59) and Logan Watley (4th OA, 56:42) came in next.  Brett Daugherty (9th OA, 1:01:49), Craig Christians (3rd AG, 1:03:12) and Kevin Burke (4th AG, 1:04:37) represented for the masters team, while Michelle Paxton (1st OA, 59:50) was the sole female.  Trevor, Ryan and Logan now sit 4th, 5th and 9th respectively on the Open Top 10 charts, while Brett, Craig and Kevin are now 4th-6th on the Masters Top 10 charts.  Ryan’s time is a new team record for the masters 15k, while Michelle’s time is the fastest ever ran by an LRC woman.

Despite all the success in the longer race, the 5k was arguably a better race for the team. Led by Johnny Rutford (3rd, 15:36), Nolan Border (4th, 15:41), Joe Coil (5th, 16:21) and Andrew Jacob (8th, 16:42) all finished in the top ten places of the race.  Jason Schmaderer also had a great run in breaking 18:00 (17:52) and being the first masters runner to finish the race. Nolan’s first 5k race for LRC puts him 4th on the all time list, while Jason’s time is an improvement on his own 9th place standing.

Next up for the team, the 50+ team will be traveling to Tulsa for the USATF 15k road championships, while many other runners turn their focus to the Good Life Halfsy taking place on Sunday, November 6th.
