Alumni Run

By Logan Watley (September 11, 2010)

The entire LRC Racing team ran the Nebraska Wesleyan Alumni Run/Time Trial on September 11th. LRC Racing ended up having the top 3 Alumni finishers for the race. Neil Wolford ran an outstanding second half of the race to finish in 20:40, which was good enough for 2nd overall and 1st for the Alumni/LRC Racing. Not too far behind were Eric Noel (21:01, 8th overall) and Logan Watley (21:05, 9th overall), who ran together for most all of the 4-mile race. All three of these members ran a faster 2nd half of the race than 1st half. Quinn Lewandowski made his running team debut by finishing the course in a personal best of 22:09. Finally, Mike Herz, who battled sickness and injury in the weeks before the race, came in at 23:05.

A few guys from the LRC Racing team will be running the Market-to-Market Relay from Omaha to Lincoln on Saturday, October 9th, but LRC Racing will not have a designated “team”. Hopefully next year our membership will be large enough to allow us to do this fun event. After that, we are hoping to enter a nearly full team at the Governor’s Cup 15K/5K in Lincoln on Sunday, October 17th. Also, membership has been expanded by one in the addition of Eric Heyl, a frequenter of the Lincoln road races. In the coming weeks, look for more additions to the team, and other “big news”.
