5k Road Record Broken

Neil Wolford competed in the Harvard 5k for People’s Project on Saturday, July 27th.  Wolford finished second overall in the race, however, he broke the LRC team record by running 15:46 for the 5 kilometer race.

The previous record (15:58) had been ran by Eric Noel nearly three years ago at the 2010 Thunder Run in Lincoln, NE.  His record was the second oldest record for LRC.

Congratulations to Neil as he just obtained his sixth LRC team record (track 3k, road 5k, track 5k, road 8k, 15k and Half Marathon).  Neil currently holds the most team record as Logan Watley comes in second with three and Tom Nichols is close behind with two records.

If you haven’t signed up yet, you can still register for Saturday’s Thunder Run through 11:59pm tonight!  If you won’t be running, you are more than welcome to come spectate as some of the state’s fastest, post-collegiate runners compete in the 5k (and as many LRC members will attempt to break Neil’s record).
