Our team name sake race was on Sunday morning.  The 28th Annual Lincoln Running Company Mile had record turnout and one of the deepest fields in a long time.  Featuring the men's and women's elite races, age/gender based heats went off every 15 minutes starting at 8am.

Runners enjoyed the relatively cool morning, turning in a slew of quality times in both absolute and age-graded terms.  Sub 5 barely got you top 30.  Sub 4:30 for podium on the men's side.  Sub 5:20 to be top 3 for the women.  With over 400 runners toeing the line in front of the Lied Center, the second year of this course has proven to be a success.  Faster than it looks and just as scenic, our new home for a fast mile has been a surprisingly great change for the race.  Congrats to Ann Ringlein, the LRC store, and the Lincoln Track Club for this event.

LRC-Nebraska was once again all over the results.  From Master's on down to the newest members of the team, almost 40 red and blue singlets were out there fighting the burn of fast racing.  The men were lead by Chad Berens (Open) and Mark Holmes (Masters).  The women were lead by Katie Fitzsimmons (Open) and Shannon Mauser-Suing (Masters).

RACE RESULTS

The summer road racing circuit continues with the Nebraska Football Road Race, Columbus Downtown Run Around, and Midnight Madness in Ames, IA over the next few weeks.
